The results are also well-known for all but one of the salaries that remained stable compared to last year and, in some cases, including audit managers, actually declined from year to year.
Up and up
Improved audit managers, from # 3 in 2017 to # 2 last year and # 1 today, can be explained by survey methodologies even though there is potential to reduce revenue from these functions. Glassdoor classifies jobs not only based on average base salary (that is, the amount paid before there is an addition) but also by general satisfaction and number of vacancies.
"Our own research shows that the status and reputation of audit managers has increased rapidly due to the consequences of the financial crisis," said Ian Peters, CEO of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors who oversees both internal auditors of public and private sector organizations.
Soon after, the professional body worked with the Financial Behavior Authority and two other regular bodies to produce financial service codes that included new requirements, such as directing the chief executive officer and executive committee.
"There is more influence and authority in the audit, so it is far more interesting and satisfying than doing it compared to the past," Peters continued.
The new audit unit is not limited to the private sector.
Government finance after the crisis and pressure on resources prompted the central government to launch the Government's Internal Audit Agency in 2015, which now employs 450 people in 65 locations.

Crashing
It is very ironic, therefore, just as the survey reflects auditor manager satisfaction for their new influence in the workplace and an increase in the number of job opportunities, its role is one of several which shows a decrease in annual wages.
The audit manager has seen a 13% decline in two years, or £ 7,500. You are not alone. Financial managers experience a decrease in salary of 12%; The marketing manager has lost 6% in profits and even 12% of commercial managers.
Audit joins financial and marketing managers to see a decrease in average base salary. JW
Only when employees try to change jobs, from one company to another, from the private sector to the public or promoted in an organization at the managerial level, they tend to realize a decrease in their income potential.

This situation does not help employees struggle against what, basically, impedes wage growth.
"We are in a relatively low environment of inflation and wage increases, seen at most wage levels," said Stefan Stern, visiting professor at Cass Business School and former director of the Center for Higher Payments.
The Office for National Statistics shows annual revenue growth for "managers, directors and senior officials" by 2% in 2018, after only 1.6% in the previous year.
Money is not everything
"If there is a higher salary, it makes people go through the door, like the initial level and the main function. But that doesn't extend to the entire workplace," Charles Cotton said.
"And if we look at more jobs in the voluntary and non-profit sectors, they will have an impact because they cannot match salaries in the private sector," continued Performance Advisor and Award from the Institute for Personnel and Higher Education Development. .

Of course, uncertainty about Brexit has had an impact on investment along with other headwinds such as the threat of a trade war between the United States and China. Fortunately, and as this result shows, we don't just go to work to pay mortgages.
"Companies that are nervous about the economy must be imaginative and think more about cash than cash," Stern said.
"What interests us is intrinsic motivation and no salary."
