Sometimes, pull cables for people who are stuck, need to be repaired or damaged, which requires replacement. You can buy a replacement cable for your company's shutters via the Internet or at your local hardware store or construction supply store. Curtains of different sizes require specific cable widths; and because different blind styles may have their own stringing methods, it is best to consult the manufacturer's installation guide for specific information about the replacement cable width and installation instructions when planning this project.
Fix traction cable
Step 1
Remove the cover that covers the hole in the fence under the curtain. You can do it with your hands and fingers. Look for the end of the cable, which is tied with a knot. Pull the cable toward you and cut the knot from the end of the cable.
Step 2
Hold the end of the new cable in your hand. Turn on the match and turn on the new end of the cable. Turn off the flame immediately. Connect the old cable and the new cable together. This will melt the end of the rope together.
Step 3
Roll the hot end and melt carefully between the fingers to join the cable. Press gently not to burn yourself. When the edges join after one minute, gently pull the cable connection to make sure the tip is tight. If not, repeat the lighting procedure.
Stage 4
Pull the tassel or lifting rope, and you have to go through the curtain. Make a new knot on the cable on the bottom rail and replace the rail cover.
Change the pull cable
Step 1
Lower the curtain according to the manufacturer's instructions. You may only need to remove the lid from the head with a flat screwdriver and remove the curtain from the slot.
Step 2
Remove the old cable and remove tufts or pull. You might have to cut it with scissors to make it easier. Insert the new cable through the cable lock and front rail.
Step 3
Feed new cables through each blind blade. Feed through the bottom rail and make a knot that is large enough so that it does not pass through the hole.
Stage 4
Replace tassel or strip, and tie knot to secure. Re-hang the curtain.
