5S office! The first thought that I think about is that this is the version of Microsoft Office that we must know.
The training session is scheduled and I have an event arranged in my calendar.

A sunny morning, like every morning from Monday to Friday, runs against time; Needless to say, I did not have time to look at my cellphone, even though I saw that the notification light was blinking. I have reason to ignore the telephone; It was Friday and all the department stores I visited to date or online shopping sites where I was a registered member, attracted my interest in weekend offers while still on the way.
I kept ignoring the phone until I received a call from a colleague. The call from him means it's important and urgent. I jumped out of my place and answered the call.
Remember I said I had to attend a training session? Yes, I'm late for that! I left everything compromised and I rushed to the office within two minutes as promised (the advantage of staying close to the office * wink *)
Huh, I was there just in time; The session will begin soon. The trainer is there and, as usual, starts with a brief introduction about him. The day began and I was disappointed when I understood that 5S doesn't mean the MS-Office version (things that happen when you don't do your homework).
At this point you should be like "can you tell me what 5S is?"
So this is what 5S - SEIRI, SEITON, SEISO, SEIKETSU, SHITSUKE means
If we put it in English, it will be: Sort, Arrange order, Shine, Standardize, Maintain.
No, this is not an abbreviation but a Japanese term that supports the basis of the methodology. Therefore, 5S is a methodology that, when followed, has been proven to bring changes that affect the organization, as well as in individual actions.
Now the question is, how do we do it?
This answer is found in the five words themselves:
SEIRI separately; Differentiate between what you need and what you don't need. Then discard things that are not potentially used.
This is followed by SEITON, which means managing various things so that there is a place for everything and everything is in one place. In addition, various things must be accessible so that we don't waste time looking for them.

The cleansing is next to the Godhead and that is what SEISO means. After we have finished classifying things and placing them in the assigned place, we must concentrate on keeping the place clean or, more precisely, making it shine. After all, who wants to work in a dirty and dusty place?
Then came the standardization of the three "S" that we talked about. Standards are determined by the markets in which we operate and we must always try to increase the standard to the desired level instead of meeting the current level.
I think we will all agree that it's easier to reach the top than to stay there. We can say the same thing for 5S; It is rather easy to apply the first four aspects of the methodology, but to maintain that it is the most difficult part. If we implement 5S but cannot maintain it, all our previous efforts will be canceled. Therefore, the most important of all is discipline, which equips 5S in the true sense of the term.
This methodology is very efficient so that, even with your eyes closed, our performance will not be affected. There are examples of organizations that win a lot by following this.
The following video provides an overview of some of these organizations. All this while I have talked about this process in literal terms; I like how to organize our workplaces, homes, files and folders. However, this also applies in a figurative sense. We can set our minds, order them and throw away what we can get rid of.
We must try to make our work shine, make it perfect and without gaps. We must recognize our shortcomings and try to solve them, increase our level of performance.
To conclude, this is not just about implementing 5S in our environment, but we must internalize it.
